Hakan has 20 years of experience in litigation and related advisory work and in that time he has appeared in most courts in NSW, the Federal Courts and some tribunals.
His main area of expertise is commercial and contract litigation involving corporations and insolvency, consumer law, equity and property, mortgages, trusts and employment law.
He has regulatory litigation expertise in the areas of work safety and construction industry prosecutions/penalty proceedings (acting for the statutory authority or as defence counsel) in the Federal Court and the District Court of NSW. He is also briefed in Torrens Assurance Fund statutory insurance disputes and other property matters under the Real Property Act (NSW) 1900 for registered proprietors and the Registrar General.
Hakan has participated in many mediation conferences and he also prepares position papers, written opinions and submissions covering all stages of dispute resolution from pre-litigation steps (including audits and investigations by taxation/revenue or prosecutorial authorities) to appellate matters.
